Maine Veterans’ Homes is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization in providing high quality care to Maine’s veteran population in its 6 homes throughout Maine. The CEO works closely with the board, staff, veterans, legislature, family members and other interested constituencies to develop short and long-term goals and strategies to achieve MVH’s mission and vision. The CEO will play a key leadership role in advocating for sustainable funding to support ongoing operations and the organization’s ability to meet new regulatory requirements.
The CEO is the organizational ambassador for MVH’s core values: Honesty and Integrity, Veterans are Unique, Respect, Excellence, Team, and Lead the Way.

About Maine Veterans’ Homes
Maine Veterans’ Homes is a non-profit, award-winning senior services healthcare provider, offering unparalleled care and comfort to approximately 600 of Maine’s veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star families in our six homes throughout the state. Created by the Maine Legislature in 1977 to provide long-term care services to Maine’s Veterans and eligible family members, MVH operates as an independent, nonprofit organization with six locations: Caribou, Scarborough, South Paris, Bangor and Machias.
MVH is a separate, nonprofit organization from the Department of Veterans Affairs but works closely with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to access federal funding for Veterans’ benefits and care.
MVH employs over 1000 highly skilled staff who are specially trained to provide the physical, emotional, and mental support and care Veterans need and who bring an unwavering commitment to the Vision and Core Values in caring for Maine’s Veterans. Each MVH’s six homes has been recognized by the industry’s leading healthcare organizations, placing MVH in the top five percent in quality measures for nursing homes across the nation.
